To help us on this mission, we are looking to appoint a Head of Travel for Spain and Portugal who will share our passion for crafting a new evolution in the travel industry. Based in our Madrid office, you will lead the travel management teams across Spain and Portugal Europe. Reporting into the Country Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving travel sales on the Groupon.es and Groupon.pt websites and managing the overall sales process. Responsibilities include but not limited to: -Own the travel category across ES and PT PoS driving improvements in customer conversion through effective deal structuring and deal exposure aligning supply and demand. -Influence the EMEA Getaways product roadmap to improve customer and merchant experience -Lead the sales function to ensure they are driving revenue for the region, through driving the team and individual reps -Drive the development of national sales strategies aimed at exceeding financial targets -Ensure ample supply of relevant sales opportunities for positioning across all EMEA PoS -Accurately forecast sales and ensure budget is met for regions and cities -Work with sales directors and other management functions to ensure sufficient resources are provided to meet budget -Provide coaching and support to the team and act as a leader for other support functions -Intervene when situations demand i.e. team issues and escalations -Support the sales management function and form strong team with peers -Maintain core KPIs including margin, flop rates and productivity -Manage overall sales process and set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management -Create incentive programmes to help motivate the sales teams -Oversee the hiring and development of a global sales organisation -Coordinate a consistent approach to sales throughout SER -Ensure the streamlining of processes between the regions and operations -Provide commercial input to cross functional groups -Establish compensation, training and sales incentive programmes -Shape and roll out company initiatives -Set targets for sales managers and the cities -Provide the necessary tools, reports, framework and resources to the sales directors to enable them to do their job -Closely monitor customer, market and competitor activity and feedback to the country Managing Director -Manage key customer relations and close strategic business opportunities -Be a role model for company culture and provide positive leadership through periods of change
